about us.

Missive Mag is a passion project, envisioned as a response to inauthentic postmodern communication. Insofar as instant messaging and social media have become the norm, we have forgotten the candid nature of handwritten letters.

This publication invites restless creatives to express themselves through the often neglected epistle form.

It is an opportunity to deliberate on word choice and transcribe thoughts that might feel too complicated to speak aloud. But it also provides a space to acknowledge our social connectedness as we reflect on our shared experiences.

Our themed magazines are published biannually. We accept art, poetry and letters. Our first issue, note to self, explored everything from success and satisfaction, from control to coercion to the long-abandoned dreams that once directed our lives.

eleanor.

founder. editor-in-chief.

Eleanor is a recent philosophy graduate from North Yorkshire with hopes to pursue a career in publishing.

She intends to study for a Master's Degree in September but after a particularly challenging final year at university, decided to take some time out for now.

In the meantime, she has been volunteering at her local library, tutoring school children, writing for The Publishing Post and curating workshops for Empoword Journalism.

Not content with this work load, she decided to dip her toe in the small press scene, finally bringing to life her long-held dream of publishing an epistole-themed anthology.

She hopes to apply for a Masters this year.
